Interim Report for the First Half of 2026

W.E.B looks back on a successful first half of 2026: Higher electricity production, driven by improved wind conditions and the additional generation capacity added in recent years, resulted in significant increases in revenue and earnings. Overall, the W.E.B Group generated 843.9 GWh of electricity, around 8 % more than in the same period of the previous year. Revenue increased from EUR 83.0 million to EUR 92.6 million, while earnings before taxes more than doubled to EUR 16.3 million.

Improved wind conditions and the power plants added in the previous year were the main drivers of this positive development. Although wind conditions remained below long-term averages, the situation in Europe improved significantly compared with the first half of 2025. As a result, electricity production increased in these markets, rising by as much as 20% in France. In Germany and Austria, additional capacity from power plants commissioned in the summer of 2025 also contributed to the increase. Overall, the W.E.B Group generated 843.9 GWh of electricity in the first half of the year. This is equivalent to the average annual electricity consumption of more than 240,000 Austrian households.

Earnings More Than Doubled

Higher electricity production had a correspondingly positive impact on financial performance. Revenue reached EUR 92.6 million in the reporting period, compared with EUR 83.0 million in the first half of 2025. Operating profit also developed favorably, increasing from EUR 17.1 million to EUR 27.6 million.

At the same time, extensive investments in new projects resulted in higher interest expenses. Nevertheless, earnings before taxes more than doubled to EUR 16.3 million, compared with EUR 7.2 million in the prior year period. Earnings per share also improved significantly, reaching EUR 3.4 compared with EUR 1.2 in the same period of the previous year.

“The first half of 2026 clearly reflects the improved wind conditions in Europe compared with the previous year, as well as the positive contribution from our newly constructed power plants,” explains Michael Trcka, Board Member Finance.

Four Projects Nearing Completion

With four additional power plant projects currently under construction and scheduled to begin operations later this year, W.E.B is continuing its profitable growth trajectory by simultaneously expanding its portfolio in four W.E.B countries. Florian Müller, Executive Board Member for Project Development, explains the scale of the current expansion: “Overall, we plan to commission around 145 MW of new generation capacity this year. This will make 2026 another significant year for the expansion of W.E.B’s power plant portfolio.”

At the 94.4 MW Weavers Mountain wind park in Canada, W.E.B’s largest wind power project to date, turbine installation is currently underway. At the 25.2 MW Poilly wind park in France, turbine installation is already largely complete. In Germany, the 14 MW Wörbzig II wind park is being built at a site where W.E.B has been active for more than 20 years. In Rohr, Austria, a second photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 11.5 MWp is under construction.

In July — after the reporting date — W.E.B sold the Ariano wind park in Italy. The transaction was driven by the specific conditions in the Italian electricity market, which created an attractive opportunity for the sale.
