Late Summer Weather with a Brief Interruption – Monthly Production Below Target
W.E.B's total electricity generation in September reached 107,168 MWh, falling short of the monthly target.
September brought a mix of weather conditions. Summer-like temperatures continued into the beginning of the month before a cold front brought an end to the warm, sunny weather. During the final week of September, a new high-pressure system moved in, bringing dry and sunny conditions once again.
Due to the prevailing high-pressure conditions, wind power generation fell short of target in Austria, Italy, France, Canada, and along the U.S. East Coast. Germany and the Czech Republic experienced stronger winds, allowing both countries to exceed their production targets.
Thanks to above-average sunshine hours in most regions, solar power generation exceeded expectations in Austria, Italy, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and the United States. Germany experienced slightly cloudier conditions, resulting in solar production falling just short of target.
