W.E.B Production Results – May 2025
06/2025 - Back to overview
Cool Temperatures and Low Wind Activity – Monthly Production Below Target
Total monthly production amounted to 112,886 MWh, falling short of the planned target.
Contrary to the trend seen earlier this spring, May—except for the first and last few days—was characterized by cool air masses from the north to northwest. Wind activity during the month was generally weak to moderate. Due to these weather conditions, which were unfavorable for wind power generation, production targets were not met in Austria, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, and the United States. Only in Canada did wind conditions prove more favorable, allowing production to exceed expectations.
Due to frequent overcast conditions, photovoltaic (PV) production targets were also missed in Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, and the United States. Germany, however, experienced sunnier weather, resulting in PV production surpassing the planned target.
