W.E.B. Production Results – August 2026
09/2026 - Back to overview
Record Heat and Extreme Drought – Monthly Production Below Plan
Total monthly production amounted to 96,808 MWh, falling short of the planned target.
According to the EU’s Copernicus Climate Change Service, this past August was the hottest August ever recorded worldwide and the hottest in Austria’s 260-year measurement history. Weather patterns were predominantly characterized by subtropical air masses moving into Central Europe.
These conditions enabled production to exceed plan in Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Wind conditions were weaker in France, Italy, Canada, and along the U.S. East Coast, where production targets were not met.
In the solar PV segment, Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, and the United States all finished above plan. Italy was the only exception, where somewhat cloudier conditions resulted in production falling just short of the planned target.
