W.E.B production results March 2019

04/2019 - Back to overview

Excellent wind conditions – second-best monthly production in W.E.B history

The overall monthly production of 130,628 MWh significantly exceeded our projected targets and delivered the second-best production results in corporate history after the record in January 2019.

After another month of temperatures above average, we are registering a quite alarming record from a climatological perspective. Never before in the history of weather data recording has it been as warm as in the last twelve months in a row. At the same time, the weather in March was quite dynamic and the prevailing westerly weather conditions directed lots of wind primarily to Germany (+50.4%!). Austria concluded the month almost on target, while Germany, France and the Czech Republic generated a clear plus in production. Both Canada and the United States continued their course of performing better than projected.

The number of hours of sunshine was just above average in Central Europe. In the photovoltaic power segment, W.E.B was able to accomplish a strong growth in production both in Austria and the Czech Republic. Germany and Italy remained slightly below target. The hydroelectric power segment delivered positive results in Austria but missed its target in Germany.
