W.E.B production results January 2021

02/2021 - Back to overview

Calm winter weather:
monthly production below target

The overall monthly production of 114,119 MWh clearly remained below the defined target in January.

Even though we were finally able to enjoy a true winter wonderland in some regions this year, the conditions for generating electricity for our wind power plants were not really ideal this January. Hardly any movement of air masses – all across Europe and even the eastern part of North America. Unfortunately, such poor wind conditions are inevitably reflected in our production results which remained below target in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, Canada and the United States. Italy was a welcome exception with the Piombino wind farm providing a nice plus in production.

The production conditions were just as challenging in the photovoltaic power segment. With less sunshine than average for this time of year and snow-covered solar panels in certain regions, our plants in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy had no chance of ever reaching their production targets.

The hydroelectric power segment remained below target both in Austria and Germany.
