Excellent wind conditions in April – production clearly above target

This year’s month of April revealed its rather cool and stormy face. Much to our advantage, the wind conditions enabled our overall production of 89,105 MWh to perform much better than expected.

Rather warm weather at first, then freezing temperatures and snow even in the lowlands. Although it felt much colder than usually for April, the temperatures corresponded to the long-term average of weather statistics. Nevertheless, above-average winds lead to clearly positive production results in Austrian, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Northern France was spared from the polar drift and could not keep up in terms of production. Canada and the United States could not reach their expected targets either.

The photovoltaic power segment underperformed in Austria and the Czech Republic. Italy generated more electricity than expected.

In the hydroelectric power segment, Austria and Germany remained below target.
