W.E.B Production Report – January 2026
02/2026 - Back to overview
Classic Midwinter – Monthly Production Below Plan
Total production for the month reached 175,261 MWh, falling short of the planned target.
This past January was marked by persistent frost, bitterly cold nights, icy winds, black ice, and numerous days with snow cover. A mix of windy Atlantic air and colder, calmer polar air masses resulted in highly variable wind conditions across regions. As a result, planned production levels were not achieved in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, or the United States.
In contrast, stronger and more dynamic air masses in Canada and Italy led to higher wind intensity, allowing production targets in those countries to be exceeded.
In the solar segment, frequent snow-covered modules limited output. With the exception of Italy, none of W.E.B’s other production countries met their planned targets in the PV sector.
