Two Commissionings – Around 1,000 MWh of Regional Solar Power

W.E.B PV systems go online in St. Valentin and Horn
W.E.B in Lower Austria: PV Carport at Magna Powertrain Steyr
At the Magna Powertrain Engineering Center site in St. Valentin W.E.B has commissioned a new PV carport with an installed capacity of 615 kWp. Covering an area of approximately 2,700 m² and consisting of 1,352 modules, the system directly supplies the company’s test benches, which operate around the clock, with renewable electricity.
This means the solar power generated is 100% consumed on-site — you can’t get more regional than that!
Construction began in June, followed by the erection of the carport and the installation of the PV modules. The system now produces 681 MWh of solar power annually.
News from the Waldviertel: PV Carport at Autohaus Lehr in Horn Now in Operation
In October, another W.E.B PV carport project went into operation. Located at Autohaus Lehr in Horn, the system has a capacity of 299 kWp and serves not only as a power generator but also as hail protection for new and used vehicles.
In addition, the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles at the site has been expanded: two 50 kW fast chargers and six 11 kW wall boxes from ELLA are now available for customers and employees. The PV carport will generate around 325 MWh of clean electricity per year – for the next 25 years!
This carport project combines two forward-looking technologies: electromobility and sustainable regional energy.
Team Effort Across Projects
As with many other PV projects, W.E.B employees were actively involved in the installations in both St. Valentin and Horn – from electrical work to final PV assembly. The entire team now celebrates the successful commissioning of these two new systems.
