The W.E.B Board of Directors on the current situation

03/2020 - Back to overview

What do the new coronavirus measures mean for W.E.B?

Ladies and Gentlemen, dear shareholders, bondholders, customers and friends of W.E.B!

We, the W.E.B Board of Directors, are writing to you in light of current events related to the new coronavirus. Needless to say, the developments in the last few days go hand in hand with some uncertainty for many of us. Transparency is essential, which is why we would like to inform you about the current situation at W.E.B.

First and foremost, we are fully aware of our responsibility as a business enterprise in society. We have done everything we can to follow the recommendations and instructions of public authorities in order to slow down the rate of infection of the virus.

Our employees are already working from home wherever possible. We certainly benefit from our technical infrastructure in all key areas, which we need to run an international enterprise in any case, and which now facilitates flexible work opportunities from any location. This independence in terms of location also applies to our Monitoring Center, for example.

We will continue to be at your service in the days to come. Please contact us either by email (web@windenergie.at) or call us during normal business hours (Mon – Thu, 8 am to 4 pm, Fri 8 am to noon):

Shareholders and bondholders: 02848/6336-20

Green Power customers: 02848/6336-56

General inquiries: 02848/6336-0

Despite the prevalent uncertainty, the immense challenges to governments and the economy, and the turbulent days in the world’s financial markets, please rest assured that the core business of W.E.B – the production of electricity from wind power – is still in full operation. From today’s point of view, we do not expect any significant consequences of the corona crisis on the performance of W.E.B.

The first two months of the year 2020 were actually very positive and exceeded our expectations by far both in terms of production and results, as you can also see for yourself in the corresponding W.E.B News (W.E.B production results February 2020).

We are as prepared for the weeks to come as we can ever be. It goes without saying, however, that we – just as much as you – are confronted with a situation that is defined by its short-term nature and unpredictability. We will continue to regularly re-evaluate the current situation, examine any potential consequences to our enterprise in all the countries we operate, and set clear priorities. In order to ensure the highest degree of transparency, we will keep you up to date on all relevant developments.

We wish all of you and your families all the best and good health!

Frank Dumeier and Michael Trcka
