Interim report on the first half of 2018

08/2018 - Back to overview

Weak conditions dampen sales revenue and earnings

The period January to March in the wind year 2018 started off relatively weak. The second quarter months of April and June showed a rise in production but could not completely make up for the difference to the targeted wind energy yields. As a result, sales revenue in the first half-year 2019 amounted to MEUR 42.3 (2017: MEUR 44.8). Earnings before tax totaled MEUR 8.2 (2017: MEUR 11.6). These figures not only reflect the lower wind energy yields but the fact that subsidized tariffs expired for several wind power plants.

The future of W.E.B continues to be characterized by moderate international growth. Ten projects with a total of 33 turbines are being implemented in 2018/19 alone. W.E.B is also remaining loyal to its citizen participation concept and started the issue of corporate bonds on August 7, 2018, which will likely last until September 18, 2018.
