WEB Windenergie AG: W.E.B bond 2023 generates record proceeds

04/2023

Bonds generate approx. EUR 38 million | Great success of latest W.E.B bond | Sustainable investment in energy transition | Foundation for intense growth

Pfaffenschlag, April 19, 2023. In line with past experiences, the latest issue of corporate bonds by WEB Windenergie AG was a great success once again. In the subscription period between March 1 and April 11, the company was able to break all previous records and generate a total of EUR 38,251,000 million.

W.E.B CFO Michael Trcka: “We are overwhelmed by the great interest in our latest corporate bond. The record proceeds of EUR 38 million impressively demonstrate the great appeal of our investment opportunity in renewable energy. Moreover, it also proves the confidence of a steadily growing number of investors in the growth strategy of W.E.B.”

W.E.B CEO Frank Dumeier: “The major success of our latest bond issue underlines once more the growing awareness of how urgently we need the energy transition. We will use this strong support to intensify our growth course in the wind power and photovoltaic sector.”

Foundation for intense growth

Ever since Austria’s first wind power bond was issued in 2010, the nine bonds already issued by WEB Windenergie AG’s have been playing a vital role in financing the company’s growth strategy. Just as in the past, W.E.B will invest the proceeds from its corporate bond 2023 in new power plants and the expansion of established plants.

W.E.B currently has wind farms and photovoltaic systems with a production capacity of more than 170 MW and an investment volume of approx. EUR 200 million either under construction or about to begin construction. They will complement the 265 power plants of WEB Windenergie AG with a total installed capacity of 596 MW.

Corporate governance

As a community participation company, W.E.B is particularly conscious of its obligation to ensure responsible and transparent corporate governance. Since mid-2006, WEB Windenergie AG has been committed to compliance with the Austrian Code of Corporate Governance (ÖCGK). This code has been applied with certain provisos and clarifications, which are published each year in the company’s annual report.
